Excellent quality of education at the HNEE

The Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) was awarded the seal for excellent training quality by the East Brandenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Industrie- und Handelskammer Ostbrandenburg, IHK) on Friday, 15 March.

Michael Völker, Deputy Managing Director and Head of the IHK's Training and Further Education Division, presented the seal:

"I am delighted that we here in East Brandenburg have such a committed and reliable partner in the field of training at our side in HNEE. I can only congratulate the trainees: With training at HNEE, you don't have to worry about your professional future."

For the Vice President for Research and Transfer at HNEE, Prof. Dr Alexander Pfriem, it is a special honour: "We would like to thank the IHK for the award and the close, fruitful cooperation. But I would particularly like to recognise the commitment of all those who carry out the training at HNEE. Carrying out this task with such dedication alongside your own work deserves respect - and high praise. Only with excellently trained administrative and academic staff can we as teachers and scientists fulfil our tasks well and work for the future of our society."

HNEE is currently training trainees to become office management assistants, IT specialists in data and process analysis and IT systems management assistants. The prestigious honour was awarded for these training fields. HNEE also trains media and information services specialists and carpenters in cooperation with the Chamber of Crafts. From next year, wood mechanics and gardeners will also be trained as part of a joint training programme.

HNEE fulfils various criteria in order to receive the seal of excellence for training quality. In addition to mandatory criteria, special additional excellence criteria must be demonstrated. For example, HNEE provides each trainee with a permanent contact person from the outset, fosters a warm welcome culture and offers team events. For young parents, it is good to know that part-time training is also possible. Support for internships abroad, participation in careers competitions and many other measures also ensure outstanding training quality.

The IHK has been awarding the seal for excellent training quality since 2016, recognising the special commitment of training companies. The seal is awarded for two years and can be extended through recertification.
