Further development of the Bachelor's programme at the Faculty of Sustainable Business
The "Sustainable Economics and Management" (B.A.) degree programme will start in the winter semester 2021/22 as a further development of the proven Bachelor's programme "Business Management". The new curriculum combines basic economics content with sustainability and modern management methods.
"With the further development of the degree programme in Sustainable Economics and Management, we are integrating new, sustainable economic approaches into the course. Students benefit from our many years of experience in sustainable contexts. The adaptation of the degree programme reflects the current state of research as well as practical needs," explains the newly appointed head of the degree programme Uwe Demele, Professor of Responsible Business Management & Ecological Sustainability. The forward-looking, practice-orientated and interdisciplinary combination of business, sustainability and management is unique in this form.
A major advantage of the new curriculum is the variety of individual study paths: students can choose their own practical project in companies or other organisations and specialisations to determine which interests they would like to pursue during their studies. Students receive expert support from the faculty's teaching staff in their learning process and are prepared for a successful career start or subsequent Master's programmes. Prof Demele adds: "Regional networks at the Faculty of Sustainable Business enable us to involve all interested students in relevant research and transfer projects."
