HNEE project Future SEE at Week of the Environment
On 5/6 June 2024, the German Federal Environmental Foundation organised the Week of the Environment "Together for Climate Neutrality " in the garden of Bellevue Palace. Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development was among the 190 exhibitors with the project "FutureSEE - Future Social Entrepreneurship Education".
Dr Mona Mirtsch was the project manager for HNEE's contribution to the exhibition. The presentation of the project and the committed teachers was visualised on a map of Germany. QR codes, which could be used to watch videos directly on site, enabled an interactive learning journey to become a social entrepreneur. A digital quiz allowed visitors to test how well they knew about social entrepreneurship. Focussed topics were highlighted in short discussion rounds with initiators and experts from the field. "Teachers in this field teach students how to use entrepreneurial methods to successfully launch projects that can do both - solve a social problem and be economically viable at the same time," says Prof Dr Britta M. Gossel, co-initiator of the project.
The FutureSEE project brings together teachers in the field of social entrepreneurship from all over Germany and currently has over 70 members. In various formats, the aim is to improve the expertise of teachers and to learn from and with each other as a community of practice. The project is funded by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education and is the result of a joint commitment by the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, the University of Bayreuth and the Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany.
