InnoForum becomes INES

INES stands for "Innovation Centre for Sustainable Food Systems - Developing the Organic Agriculture and Food Sector Together" at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE). The expansion of the network of the previous "InnoForum Ökologische Land- und Lebensmittelwirtschaft" (InnoForum Organic Agriculture and Food Economy) now includes companies from the entire value chain of organic food processing and economy, trade and civil society actors throughout Germany, according to the scientific director Prof Dr Anna Maria Häring.

Brandenburg's successful Innovation Forum for Organic Farming in Brandenburg format will be further developed in an application- and practice-orientated manner in order to continue to pursue innovative ways of cooperation between practice, teaching and research in the future. INES forms the basis for application-oriented teaching and learning formats in the three HNEE degree programmes "Organic Farming and Marketing", "Organic Agriculture and Food Systems" (OLE) and "Designing Sustainable Food and Agricultural Culture". At the interface between research, teaching and practice, co-creative, transdisciplinary research projects in the food and nutrition sector can be developed. They in turn form the basis for the transfer of ideas, experience and knowledge as well as solution-orientated, long-term collaborations. Partners in these research projects are often regional and supra-regional practice partners and research institutions.

The further development was announced at the annual meeting of the practice partners. Some of the participants have been attending the annual meetings for 20 years in order to maintain the dialogue - which shows the importance for the industry. The bidirectional knowledge transfer between practice and research that takes place there is now being utilised and made effective for new partners throughout Germany.
